How to easily join HD MP4 files from an HD Camcorder
I like Vimeo a lot. I also like my new Samsung HMX-10 HD camcorder. But uploading clips one by one was not the best solution. And using Quicktime to join files took way to long. Luckily the free MPEG Streamclip came to the rescue.
You can simply drag multiple MP4 files into this app, and just do a "Save As.." to get a new MP4 with all your clips joined together. This is much quicker than re-exporting them and keeps the original quality. The jump cuts do suffer from some choppy audio cuts, but you could then take that large file into another app or just live with it (compared to having to play multiple files one by one once uploaded to Vimeo..)
Really bad 1992 Powerbook Ad
I just found this video on a VHS tape from 1992 - quality is almost as bad as the commercial itself. No wonder Apple was suffering back then with marketing like that!
Samsung LCD TV Problem - Model LE40N73BD
UPDATE - Under warranty, Samsung came by and opened it up and immediately suspected an internal LVDS cable. They disconnected/reconnected it and said it should be OK for now if not they'll come back and replace the flat, white cable completely. So far so good, picture is back to perfect!
Here is a problem I'm having with my Samsung LCD. Luckily it's still under warranty but would like to know what is causing it and if they'll replace or repair...
The problem as you can see in the picture are red lines/waves appearing in dark areas. In white areas there are also similar green spots/lines, but they are not as obvious.
CNN.com USA vs InternationalThese screenshots were taken at 9:10AM Eastern US Time today (21-Dec). Like yesterday's Britney coverage this shows how CNN "cleans" up the news for ratings for people in the USA...
Les Etats-Unis #3 - France #12
Funny enough the French may not be quite as anti-American as everyone would like you to think. They also like their Afro wigs. Check out this list of top selling items under the category "decoration" from a popular low-price online store.
3D View of Victoria Crater
I took the stereo images from http://marsrovers.jpl.nasa.gov/home/index.html of Victoria Crater and made one of those animated GIFs instead of the standard red/blue view. I never seem to happen red/blue glasses lying around!
